We just had our first cold day here in Alabama. Do I keep them inside the house until they root and then transfer to the ground or leave them inside until spring? Just not sure when to plant them since they will surely be dormant in a few months.

I cut these long stems just the other day to see if they will start forming new growth from the bottom. Is this something I should always do or should I leave them alone and let them do their thing?

Dipped in root hormone and in potting mix. 7/15 are doing well. It has been 8 weeks. Good growth but still in 4 inch or 6 inch containers. All are in a clear large tote with lid. Just moved to Idaho zone 6. Do I fertilize and replant to bigger now? Do I plant outside out of tote? Windy at times in our area. Help, don’t want to lose the growth I have with the plants.

Its growing great in the organial pot. I do see some roots coming out the bottom of pot. Its blooming and leaves are beautiful. I have transplanted violets before and then they die.
