In reply to Sara. If they're puffing up, the citric acid and baking soda have been activated meaning your mixture is too wet. These should be the consistency of wet sand when packing them.

Am I able to create this with or without the European clay? Or will removing the clay take away from any of the binding properties?

I’d love a link to the molds you use. I can’t find any that aren’t solicone! Also, my mixture the 2nd time puffs up, what did I do wrong?

this is the third shower steamer recipe i’ve tried and still have not found a recipe that works. it’s so confusing and frustrating because buying these is crazy expensive compared to the ingredient cost.
