Thank you! I just made it, and it is beautiful (still too hot to try), but it’s an emerald green rather than purple. I read in some recipes for making lilac simple syrup that adding a drop or two of lemon juice changes it’s color (because of the acid). Do you think that would make this purple too? Or is mg violet soda just going to be green?

Make the syrup right away and use it within a week, stored in the fridge, or freeze it to store for 3 months (deep freeze for longer).

I’m excited to try this, but assuming it comes out as nicely for me as it did for you, I would like to save some for summer outdoor gatherings. Would you suggest making the whole syrup and storing it in the fridge? Freezing it? Or stopping after the flowers are steeped and freezing that and then making the syrup later? Thanks!
