That will not help them as the essential oils will still dissipate. Store them in a sealed jar to extend the life of the scent.

you can use water but the which hazel evaporates quickly making them fizz less and harden better. The mixture fizzed because you used too much moisture. Use less and it bind better the next time.

Does it help with the binding process? Could it be substituted for water? I just found my mixture fizzed despite my efforts and then the cubes expanded a lot, overflowing the form.

They aren’t firm enough to pack the mixture in tight enough to set properly. Hard molds work best.
