Hi Ken, Typically lighter leaves like more shade, so the variegation will tolerate shade better and sun less.

I’ve noticed that some types of Dracaena are variegated. Does variegation have any impact on their shade tolerance?

This article definitely reflects MY experience—for years now!! And it showed me one I’d never heard of and want to get now: ZZ Plant. Also—I can now move our Spider Plant away from one of our very few bright-indirect-light spots and give another plant that prime real estate—thank you so much, Stephanie!!!

Some plants do love dim areas. There’s no one “desirable condition” for every plant. There are many that don’t want direct or even indirect sun; just think of all the plants that grow within dark crevices or under other trees!

I think you’re VERY misinformed, think about what you said. NOT every spot on the planet has light, and there are beautiful plants, growing in very little light.

If I’m not wrong, I believe that aloe plants are tropical, so they prefer more sunny/humid environments, so perhaps a well-lit bathroom? I would do more personal research though, and someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
