Many thanks for sharing this recipe! I was finally able to refill my Japanese Foaming Hand Wash bottle (the dispensed foam is flower-shaped) :)
Greetings from a German living in France

its 2 parts water / 3 parts soap / 2 parts air.
measure on side of bottle, 3 inches soap. 2 inches water . 2 inches air.
use a shot glass. 2 shots water. 3 shots soap. 2 shots air.*
* the air is the space that”s in the top of the bottle

it would depend on the volume of your container. it’s not exactly like baking a cake. you can eye ball it. ;) or if you’d really prefer, measure your bottle and use Google to do the math for a “perfect” blend- but this is not necessary.

Love this! I did this at my job for a year and we went through so much less soap. So much cheaper, you wonder why people do it the other way at all.

Great post!

Hi Debra, I do not. I make small batches and use them up within a month or so. I make sure the jar and tools I use are sterilized and keep the system closed (meaning the soap pump pulls the liquid out and no other bacteria is invited in. So with all of that, I have had the soap mix last for well over 6 months. But again, I make it and use it regularly so that is never really an issue. Lots of more info on using a natural preservative here: https://gardentherapy.ca/natural-lotion-recipe/ I hope this helps!

When mixed with water, it introduces a means for bacteria to grow. The Castile Soap has a preservative, but once water is added it messes with the ratio. At least, that’s what I have read on Plant Therapy blogs, and other essential oil sites that talk about DIY foaming soaps.
