A good rule of thumb is that the expiry date for the oils doesn’t change from what it is on the packaging as long as you don’t add any water.

Thanks.

Hi Lara, great question! There are both a warm infusion and cold infusion methods. Warm infusions are done in hours, while cold infusions take many weeks. Some people swear by one or the other. I like to use warm infusions for most things, but with blossoms like dandelions, I choose cold infusion. Summer sun can be very very hot, so it is best to control the temperature with the other methods in the summer so you don’t risk frying the herbs and sterilizing their beneficial properties. Thanks for asking! Hugs, Stephanie

Im wondering why you say on this post, that the herbs will infuse the oil are time spent in the dark, whereas on another one of your posts, it says ‘you need to use heat to infuse the oil’.
Also wondering if the summer sun is really hotter than using a double boiler, for infusing herbs/flowers into oils? ☺️

Lots of love from Lara x
